Kidney is one of the most important and vital organs that is found in the human body. They help in processing almost everything humans brings inside their body, ranging from food, alcohol to medications. Since the kidney plays a very vital role in the human system, then you should endeavour to maintain your kidney health. A proper diet can revitalise your system and get rid of harmful bacteria, virus and parasites off your system.

Maintaining your kidney health and keeping the kidney clean is an important way to prevent kidney infection and kidney stone formation. The big question will be, "how can this be achieved"? Just follow the diet listed below in order to boost your immunity and keep your kidneys healthy.

Diets to keep your kidney healthy

1. Drink warm water with lemon juice
Always start your day by drinking a cup of hot water and a dash of lemon juice. Drinking this concoction first thing every morning will flush off toxins out of your body. You can also engage in this tips daily in order to prevent kidney diseases and any problem related to the kidney.

2. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables
The inclusion of lots of fruits and vegetables in your diet can reduce your risk of metabolic acidosis and kidney infection. Metabolic acidosis is a condition in which your body produces too much acids. People that suffer from chronic kidney disease are more susceptible to metabolic acidosis. By consuming more fruits and vegetables, they can help your kidney remove the excess acid and excrete them through your urine. Bell peppers, onions, and cabbage can perfectly assist you in maintaining your kidney health. Berries is another fruit that is friendly to the kidney. They are rich in antioxidants and can help flush out the uric acid from the kidneys, thereby maintaining its health. Apples is also a good fruit in maintaining the kidney health, because they are rich in fibre and antioxidants that can improve the kidney function. 

3. Eat parsley and dandelion leaves
Dandelion leaves is been termed as one of the nature's best diuretics. These leaves can aid in the proper functioning of the urinary tract and also gives strength to the kidneys. Simply brew dandelion leaves into a refreshing tea and drink a cup of it once in daily. Parsley also helps in flushing off toxins from the kidneys. You can simply add parsley leaves to your salad or brew it into tea.

4. Drink healthy beverages
Drinking healthy beverages such as juices is an excellent way of adding more fluids to your system and keeping your kidneys healthy. Fluids helps your digestive system to extract large amount of water and flush out wastes and toxins from your body. In all these, if you are suffering from a kidney disease, try as much as possible to avoid juices made from vegetables like beets and spinach. These vegetables are rich in oxalic acids which promotes the formation of kidney stones. In this condition, the healthy drink you will be needing is coconut water in order to rejuvenate your organs of your body.

5. Avoid caffeine, alcohol and refined foods
You should limit your intake of alcohol, coffee and refined foods, because they can be tough to process, thereby putting a lot of strain on your kidneys. A diet that is high on protein can also do more harm than good to your kidneys, they can cause a lot of strain to your kidney. This cause your kidney to work harder which can eventually lead to kidney malfunctioning. 

6. Limit your intake of salt
You should avoid meals that are heavy laden with salts because you body spends a lot of energy while trying to expel the salts. Whenever you consume a lot of salt, your kidneys have to work even harder to process it. As a result of this, it is a better idea to lower or limit your intake of salt. Just restrict it to 5 to 6 grams of salt per day, which is equal to just a teaspoon, it is highly beneficial to your kidney health. In the whole sense, it is better to limit the amount of processed or restaurant foods that we consume and adopt the habit of eating our own home-cooked meal with clean and fresh ingredients.
